Acces door to the Milà house ,"La Pedrera":

The architect Antoni Gaudí (1852-1926), the most representative of Catalan Modernism, devised the building commissioned by businessman Pere Mila and was built between 1906 and 1912.It’s a six-storey building which was organized around two courtyards: one round and another oval. In addition, there are a basement, an attic and a rooftop. It constantly evokes nature through its organic shapes, from the undulating façade, to the tiles which eventually paved the Paseo de Gracia. The two front doors (each one leads to a courtyard) are made of wrought iron and glass. Thus, they work as a gateway and a security gate at the same time. This also allows light to get to the interior hallways. Its design is organic and reminds some natural shapes like the insect wings.
