Hill house chair:

The Scottish architect Charles Rennie Mackintosh (1868-1928) was the leading exponent of Art Nouveau in Scotland. He is characterized for the linearity and the games of symmetry with influences of  Celtic culture like an oval compartmentation,frameworkings and motifs enclosed in abstract discs and circular shapes.Chair Hill House (1903) was created for theHill House's blue room, a residence of Glasgow. Made of ash wood stained black (currently lacquered wood) with seat upholstered in velvet, is recognized especially for its distinctive backing of 1,41 m tall.Its main objective was never functional.Was decorative. it is a work of art as a formal counterpoint to the all-white room environment; To contemplate, rather than sit. It is produced by the firm Cassina since 1973.
